About the project

We are helping build a new kindergarten at Our Lady of the Way Catholic Primary School.

The new hub will be able to offer kinder to 99 children at a time. By providing longer kindergarten days and running multiple programs across the week, the service may be able to enrol more local children to access free kindergarten.

The centre will also have consulting rooms and space that could support an Outside School Hours Care program, playgroup, or other community support programs.

This will help expand Victoria’s 2 years of free kindergarten, as part of our Best Start, Best Life reforms.

Funding

This project received up to $6.75 million as part of the Building Blocks Partnership between the Victorian Government and the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Early Years Education. The Victorian Government has invested up to $81 million to support 12 projects that will create up to 2,100 kindergarten places in the Greater Melbourne area.
