About the project

We are partnering with Hume City Council to expand this centre.

We are adding a fourth kinder room so that 33 more local kids can attend kinder at a time.

The centre will be able to offer kinder to up to 132 children at a time. It may be able to enrol more kids by spreading sessions throughout the week.

This will help expand Victoria’s 2 years of free kindergarten, as part of our Best Start, Best Life reforms.

Funding

This project received $1.942 million as part of the Building Blocks Partnership between the Victorian Government and Hume City Council. The Victorian Government has committed up to $7.4 million to support 5 projects in the City of Hume. These will create up to 280 kindergarten places in the local government area.

About the project

We built an integrated children's centre next to Banum Warrik Primary School.

The centre has 3 kindergarten rooms, a multipurpose activity room and maternal child health services. The kindergarten will provide 99 places for local children. It will help them get 2 years of high-quality funded kindergarten.

This centre was previously known as Kalkallo North Integrated Child, Family and Community Centre.
